The Granary is situated within Yeate Farm, which borders the Fowey Estuary, with a boatyard and slipway nearby. It is within minutes of the the beautiful South Cornish coastline. This is the centre of Du Maurier Country, with many of the local towns and villages appearing in the books of the famous author. For many years Daphne Du Maurier lived at Bodinnick, taking inspiration from the river and countryside. Each year the Du Maurier Festival is held in May in Fowey.

Close by the Granary a footpath leads to the Old Ferry Inn at Bodinnick, and from here one can explore Fowey via the car ferry, or there are many walks along the river and coast.

The Hall Walk provides magnificent views across the estuary, and can be made part of a circular walk crossing the river by the Polruan passenger ferry, and then back to Bodinnick via the car ferry.

Further afield, but all within easy reach by car, are the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the fishing villages of Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey, and the resorts of Newquay, Falmouth, Penzance and St Ives. There are many other gardens and historic buildings awaiting your discovery as well as miles of coastal cliff walks and hidden coves and beaches.
